In Lake Biwa, Big bass are blooming!So many visitors are in Kyoto to see beautiful Sakura, cherry flowers, in this season,At the same time, big bass get activated for their spawning. in Lake Biwa, next to central Kyoto. Now it is in pre-spawning season. Bass are coming up to the warming shallows. I went bassing 10th April. I was going to do with foreign visitor, but he had inconvenient unfortunately.Actually it had been for a long time since my last visiting there for bass.I often went there about 10 years ago. I know some places to fish, but not knowing the seasonal situation, I asked a professional to guide me this time.His instruction was so nice. He selected the lures adjusted for the current.It was tough because of blowing cold wind temporarily, but I got them below thanks for his guidance.
First one, 50cm (about 4 lbs):
the second, 40cm (about 2 lbs)
Recently big bass over 60cm were caught on his deck, I expected such monsters, but anyway happy day!The guide, nicknamed Goe, is so experienced angler. Now he is a professional bass fishing guide in Lake Biwa and he was a pro bass competitor in Japan. He also has visited the US for bass fishing (in Lake Meed? sorry I've forgot his words).And so educated person, I'm sure he is one of the best for foreign angler to catch mega-bass!
