Snowpack in CO was low this year and spring came early. Flows are almost native and fishing is great. Usually most rivers are cranking right now, my Arkansas River is usually above 1000 cfs in May/June. Right now it is only 400 cfs, so wading is nice, and the fish are fat and happy. This seems to be the trend throughout the West.
Caddis and mayflies are still coming off Arkansas, but stoneflies are making a big appearance. And a large Brown crushing a PMX dry is as about as exciting as you get. So they have a full menu right now.
So if you are a fly fisherman, get t the river!!!!!
