The middle of summer isn’t known for its great bass fishing, but anglers on Lake Seminole are enjoying fishing that’s about as good as it’s possible to get anywhere in the country. In fact, three local fishing tournaments report numerous boats bringing in over 12 pounds each – an average of 4 pounds for everyone in the tournaments!
Anglers are finding several patterns working all over the lake:
- Deep Water Fishing – What’s really working right now is to use lowrance down-scan and structure-scan technology to scan river ledges (this is the best technology on the market for finding fishes on ledges). We’re finding that 3/8 oz. Texas Rig 8” Big Bite Baits Finnesse Worm (in Blue Fleck) is landing fish after fish, once you find them.
- Frog Fishing – Using 7’-6” Heavy/Fast Buddha Stick and a Lews Tournament Speed Spool at 8:3:1 with 60-lb Buddha Braid is perfect for fishing matted grass and lily pads!
- Spring Creek – Bait fishing is getting fantastic results here. They’re being caught cranking the timber.
