ASC, EATiP, FEAP and HAPO, join GAA/BAP as supporters in Corfu.
Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation co-founded by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and The Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) to manage a third party certification and labelling programme for aquaculture around the globe. Custodians of the ASC certificate, ASC ensures those receiving the award, are preserving of the natural environment, biodiversity and water resources and providing good working conditions for their employees.
Federation of European Aquaculture Providers (FEAP) provide the united voice of European aquaculture production. Its 26 member organisations are drawn from 22 States across the European continent, the FEAP represents: more than 2 million tons of produce, an ex-farm value of over € 8 billion and 100,000 direct jobs in coastal and rural areas. All members are active in fish farming and aware of the main issues concerning aquaculture and its development.
Linked to FEAP are European Aqauculture Technology and Innovation Platform (EATiP) which is an international non-profit association dedicated to developing, supporting and promoting technology and innovation in the European aquaculture sector. EATiP seeks to empower the mission of aquaculture growth through actively bringing the sector’s research and development priorities to the European agenda.
Established in 2016, Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organisation (HAPO) represents approximately 80% of the Greek aquaculture industry. The mission of the Producers Organization is to confront international competition and exploit the dynamics of the industry arising due to the significant increased demand for aquaculture products worldwide. The mission of the Producers Organization is the creation of the national identity of all fresh Greek fish produced by its Members, represented by the new collective label ‘Fish from Greece’.
