Where i live winds in west is best, east they bite the least, north fisherman shall not go forth, south puts the bait in the fishes mouth. I wonder if that is the same around the world.

There are exceptions to this though usually when a wind has been blowing in the same direction for quite a while the fish seem to drop back up the wind.
In the colder months in winter it is the opposite, i like to fish on the back of a wind where the fish seem to go to get shelter in the warmer calmer water.

In Pike fishing I've always found baro pressure a more measureable guide irrespective of wind direction. A rise in pressure and temp after a sustained period of low pressure always led to bigger a sometimes amazing catches.
