Fishing and Rain

I have talked with many anglers over the years, one thing many ppl seems to debate about is. Is fishing better during the rain or after it have rained and what species do you fish. Personaly I find that fishing turns to the better right after rain stops, while during the rain they are less active feeding. Atleast my expiriance for Carp and Rainbow Trouth fishing.

  • Rich Hart It always seems to get the carp feeding after a good heavy rain storm especially if there has been a prolonged dry spell. A good rain storm normally brings with it a good breeze too which makes it even better.
  • Ben Hallpike Depends what fish species you are chasing and what part of the world you are in. I myself think trout bite best after a rain period.
  • Angelo Mastrando I live in NJ and personally i have the greatest luck with the bigger bass in the rain using a spinnerbait or a in-line spinner and carp love the rain just as much. I also catch trout after the rain, dang ant's are all over
