Catching a few monster St. Johns River Redfish on live mullet. September is a hot month for these monsters in the river. I'm using: Avet Reels (LX 6.0:1), 40 lb Berkley Big Game line, 80 lb Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon leader, A custom 8' rod that I bought at The Tackle Box in Gainesville, FL back in 1998. The rod was designed for Tarpon. I'm fishing in depths from 30' to 46'. And I'm catching these on an incoming tide, but as the tide changed they kept biting. The boat is a 1974 19-6 Aquasport.
