***Out on my first adventure of 2014 on a backwater of the Mississippi River***. Sunday, March 30th. Average water temp of the river is in the mid to high 30's so fish aren't very active yet. However at this time of year I seem to always have some luck in places where the water temp is a few degrees warmer than the main channel. I have no problem going out and catching rough fish especially when there isn't much else biting. These ones put up a good fight and gave me something to do on Northeast Iowa's first real day of spring. Say goodbye to winter and enjoy!
