Mid-day I use jigs that I flip into cover, also I go fish points and drop offs with cranks, swimbaits, swimjigs, and shaky heads. But I would generally stick to flippin' and pitchin' to thick cover where the bass is sluggish and doesn't want to move much. You plop a big jig in front of it and it will hit is for sure!

Drop shot works the best for me, fish the sea walls, points, and drop offs as well
